Required Elements
If you are receiving student loans, you will need to complete the loan entrance counseling element. Please refer to your estimated financial plan for your loan amounts. And complete for the section under *undergrad*.
Another required element for those receiving student loans is the Master Promissory note (MPN). Please complete this element under the *undergraduate* section also.
Please send me a photo of yourself for your student permit. We are required to attach this to your permit. It can be any photo that you like, filtered or whatever. You can email or text it directly to me.
About Your First Day
Wear your school shirt, any kind of black pants and any color and kind of closed-toe shoes. If you didn’t get a school shirt, wear a black shirt. ALSO- you are more than welcome to make your own school shirt. They just need to be solid black with only the school logo. I’m glad to email you the logo for your creating!
School starts @ 8:30 promptly. DON’T BE LATE. You can arrive as early as 7:45 and I will be waiting on you at the front desk.
Student parking is directly across the street from the school at Cones Rd & Gossett St. Please park there and walk across to the school.
There’s nothing that you’re required to bring your first day. I’ll have your book and iPad for you when you clock in. You’re welcome to bring a lunch if you’d like, but everything else will be provided for you.
The Day's Schedule
8:30am-9:30am : Theory class. You’ll join the rest of the school in the classroom.
9:30am-9:45am : A short break if you choose
9:45am-11:30am : I will do an orientation session with your class. Sometimes we run over until about 12:00
11:30am-12:00pm : Lunch break. You clock out and can go wherever you like or you can stay and eat lunch at the school. It’s a 30-minute break so please plan accordingly.
12:00pm-2:00pm : You will do some hair! You will jump right into your hands-on freshman training right after the lunch break!
2:00pm-2:15pm : Elective break
2:15pm-3:00pm : Finish up the day in freshman class.
3:00pm-3:30pm : School is over and you are welcome to leave or you can choose to stay until 3:30pm to get extra hours. We won’t judge you either way. We know you have a life outside of school!
Lunch Tips
Lunch will be pretty promptly at 11:30 for the duration of your first 8-weeks training. However, on your first day, we may go a bit late with orientation requirements.
Lunch is always 30-minutes in length. You clock out and can stay and eat here with us or you are welcome to go wherever you like. We have a microwave in the break room, but no refrigerator.
If you choose to go somewhere, you need to be back exactly 30-minutes after clocking out since we will get started doing hair!
- If you like Sonic, you can order on their app or online and they usually have it ready in about 15 minutes.
- King Kone is also within walking distance and you can call ahead at 501-321-9766 and they will have your order ready for pickup within usually 10-15 minutes.
- WalMart Market across the street is my go-to for cheap, fast food. They have hot food near the deli in the back as well as the usual grocery items.
